Leaving or Recently Left School?

The transition from school to higher education and work are major milestones in every young person's life and the NDIS may provide you with some extra funding to assist you with entering further education, becoming job ready and developing life skills to assist you be more independent. 

If you are leaving school in the next 12 months or have left school in the last couple of years and live in Melbourne, contact us for an informal, no obligation conversation about the different pathway options to available to you including transition to further education, school leaver employment supports (SLES) and individual skills development planning and support.

School Leaver Employment Support

You First School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) are generally available to you for up to 2 years and are tailored to support you transition from school  and into work.

SLES has been designed to be flexible to your goals and to enable you to gain core skills (e.g., time management, good communication & money handling), job skills (e.g., completing a job application, drafting a CV & interview skills) and work skills via work experience (which can also be fully supported).

After 2 years, most participants will either have gained a job or be ready to transition to a Disability Employment Service to enable access to ongoing support.
