Home & Living
Living independently is a goal for many people. Being able to develop skills & build capacity and have access to the right supports at the right time means you can achieve your goals to begin or continue to live independently.

There are different types of home & living supports available for NDIS participants and it is important to remember that the NDIS does not fund day-to-day living costs such as rent, groceries, utilities, telephone or internet costs or general household items such as furniture or kitchen equipment so understanding costs & planning a budget are important first steps when exploring your home & living options.
Home & Living Options
-
Short-term accommodation (STA/Respite) - where you stay somewhere else for a short period of time
-
Medium-term accommodation (MTA) - temporary accommodation generally for up to 90 days while you can't live in your longer term home
-
Individualised Living Options (ILO) - supports that are designed around where and with who you want to live
-
Supported Independent Living (SIL) - the support team for people with high support needs who need support most of the time, including overnight - check out our current SIL house vacancies
-
Specialised Disability Accommodation (SDA) - a specially built type of house that has been built to be more accessible for people with high support needs
